Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, 630 Bedford Road, Pocantico Hills (Sleepy Hollow), NY 10591, 914-366-6200. The villages of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown are descendants of colonial-era Dutch farming communities. Today our agricultural tradition continues at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture where 80 rolling acres of gardens, pastures and woods bring together the traditions of community-based farming with 21st century sustainable farming techniques. A restaurant, café, and a farm market on site bring locally raised food to your table.
Stone Barns offers a year-round calendar of events: seasonal programs around their diverse agricultural operations. Look for greenhouse and farm tours, introduction to vegetable crops, wild foraging, farming and gardening workshops, children’s story time, cooking classes, and seasonal farm celebrations.
Farm Market: Regular season opens on Saturday, May 1 and concludes on Sunday, November 21. Winter market operates once monthly on the second Sunday of the month from December to April, 1PM to 4PM in the hay barn.
At Stone Barns there are walking trails among the fields, pastures, and pens—a great way to get up close to the veggies, field crops, and livestock. Trails also lead into the adjacent Rockefeller State Park.
Check the Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown calendar for more special events.
